Columbia Avionics, Inc. has obtained STC's for Universal's TAWS and MFD-640 for Learjet 35A aircraft.Columbia Avionics, Inc. has obtained two FAA Supplemental Type Certificates for the Lear 35/A and 36/A Series Aircraft. The first STC is for the Universal TAWS Terrain Awareness and Warning System. The second STC is for Universal's MFD-640 Multi-Function Display system.
The Universal TAWS system meets the upcoming FAA mandate that requires all turbine powered aircraft to have a TAWS system installed by March, 2005. The Universal TAWS system is displayed on the MFD-640 in Map, Profile, and 3D modes.
The MFD-640 system is certified for installation in Part 25 aircraft. The MFD is interfaced with the aircraft's PRIMUS 400 radar system. It can also be interfaced with a PRIMUS 300(SL) radar system.
